All oversize loads entering the City of Brookwood must conform to the requirements set by the Alabama Department of Transportation.

In general, any vehicle over 12 feet in width, 14.5 feet in height, and within the Class 3 weight category should obtain an oversize load permit from the Brookwood Public Works Department.

Additionally, all loads entering Brookwood's downtown area must be escorted by a trained flagman due to increased pedestrian traffic during rush hour.

In Brookwood, escort vehicles are required for any load exceeding 15 feet in width or 18 feet in height. A trained flagman must be present at all times when operating on City streets.
