Cascade Locks has a unique requirement for oversized loads carrying hazardous materials, which must be accompanied by a hazmat placard and meet specific regulations set forth by the Oregon State Fire Marshal's Office.

In Cascade Locks, escort vehicles are required for any oversized load exceeding 12 feet in width or 18 feet in height. Escorts must be provided by a certified company and meet the standards set forth by the Oregon Department of Transportation.

The Hood River County Sheriff's Office is responsible for providing police escorts for oversized loads within Cascade Locks. Scheduling fees apply, with discounts available for repeat customers.
