Permit Information

  • Permit Validity: Oversize permits valid for 5 days.
  • Available at Ports of Entry: For loads not requiring bridge checks.
  • Single-trip Permits: Required for most oversized movements.
  • Special Provisions: Available for heavy equipment oversize shipping.

Operating Hours & Travel Flexibility

  • Standard Movement: ½ hour before sunrise to ½ hour after sunset (Mon-Sat).
  • Continuous Travel: Allowed for:
    • Overweight-only loads.
    • Loads ≤10′ wide, ≤14’6″ high, ≤120′ long, ≤140,000 lbs.

Restricted Travel Areas

Urban Curfews:

  • Albuquerque/Santa Fe/Espanola: 7-9 AM & 4-6 PM.
  • Santa Fe: Additional restriction from 11:30 AM-1:30 PM (except SR599).

Weather Restrictions:
