Permits & Operating Hours

  • Ohio Oversize Permits: Valid for five days and must be obtained before entering the state.
  • Operating Times:
    • Loads up to 12′ wide: From half an hour before sunrise to half an hour after sunset, including weekends.
    • Loads over 12′ wide: Restricted until 3:00 PM on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with additional limitations from April 1 to November 30.
    • Overweight-only loads: Can travel continuously if they maintain traffic flow (up to 53′ trailer length).

Restricted Travel & Route Compliance

  • Movement Restrictions: Loads over 12 feet wide are prohibited during peak hours (6:30 AM–9:00 AM and 4:30 PM–6:00 PM, Monday–Friday) in many counties. Check Ohio Provisions Form OS-1A for restricted counties.
