In general, any vehicle over 10 feet in width, 14 feet in height, and within the Class 3 weight category should obtain an oversize load permit from the Central Public Works Department.
Additionally, all oversized loads must avoid traveling on local school zones during peak hours (7:00 AM - 9:00 AM) to ensure student safety.
In Central, escort vehicles are required for any load exceeding 12 feet in width or 16 feet in height. Local police departments will provide escorts during peak hours (7:00 AM - 9:00 AM) and weekends.
A $50 fee applies to each escort vehicle, payable at the time of permit application.
