In general, any vehicle over 10 feet in width, 13.5 feet in height, and within the Class III weight classification should obtain an oversize load permit from the Evans Public Works Department.
Additionally, all oversized loads must travel on designated routes during peak hours (7:00 AM - 9:00 AM) to minimize disruptions to residential neighborhoods.
Escorts are required for all oversized loads exceeding 12 feet in width or 14.5 feet in height, as well as those that exceed the maximum gross weight rating of 80,000 pounds. Escorts can be arranged through the Evans Police Department at (970) 475-8841.
A $50 fee is charged for each escort vehicle, with a minimum notice period of 24 hours required.

Restricted routes: Oversized loads must avoid traveling on Evans' residential streets, including all streets within the city limits that have a posted speed limit of 25 mph or less.
The base permit fee for Evans is $200, with an additional $50 per day for each day the load exceeds the notice period. Additional fees apply for escort vehicles and route complexity.
