The specialized freight trucking industry in the United States is a significant economic force, worth over $125 billion annually. This robust sector is experiencing steady growth, driven primarily by nationwide infrastructure projects and the increasing demand for renewable energy transport.
Scale is a defining characteristic of this industry, with more than 10 million oversize/overweight permits issued annually across the country. These permits primarily facilitate the transport of construction equipment, generators, turbines, and agricultural machinery.
Most heavy hauls involve substantial loads weighing between 40,000 to 120,000 pounds and spanning up to 20 feet wide, highlighting the specialized expertise required for safe and efficient transport.
California stands out among the top three states for oversize transport demand, a position attributed to its bustling ports, extensive agricultural operations, and thriving technology manufacturing centers.
Coastal states like California face additional complexity due to environmental protection zones along transport routes, with approximately 15% of heavy hauls involving marine-related industries.
Customer expectations in this specialized industry are clear and demanding. A recent industry survey revealed that 92% of heavy equipment buyers consider on-time delivery and damage-free transport their top priorities.
Our heavy haul services cover the Oklahoma City metropolitan area, including neighborhoods like Downtown Oklahoma City, Nichols Hills, and Mustang. We serve major districts such as the Oklahoma Health Center, the Capitol Complex, and the Automobile Alley district.
We utilize major highways and interstates, including I-35, I-40, and I-44, which connect Oklahoma City to major cities across the United States. Our routes also include US-62, US-77, and the Turner Turnpike, providing efficient access to regional destinations.
While Oklahoma City is landlocked, we're strategically positioned to serve major industrial hubs and logistics centers. We provide support to the Oklahoma City Logistics Center, BNSF Railway's Oklahoma City yard, and various industrial parks along I-35 and I-40.

All oversize loads entering the City of Oklahoma City must conform to the requirements set by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
In general, any vehicle over 10 feet in width, 14 feet in height, and within the Class B weight class should obtain an oversize load permit from the Oklahoma City Public Works Department.
Additionally, oversized loads are required to travel on designated routes during peak construction hours (7am-9am) to avoid disruptions to traffic and local businesses.
According to Oklahoma City Municipal Code Section 12-3-4, escort vehicles are required for oversized loads exceeding 12 feet in width or 15 feet in height.
The Oklahoma City Police Department requires a minimum of two escort vehicles for loads traveling on major highways and four escort vehicles for loads traveling on local streets.
To apply for an oversize load permit, companies must visit the Oklahoma City Public Works Department's website and complete the online application form.
A $25 application fee is required, which can be paid by credit card or check.
Oversized loads are prohibited from traveling on the Oklahoma City's downtown streets (NW 10th St, N Hudson Ave, and E Main St) between 11am-3pm on weekdays.
During severe weather conditions (wind gusts over 40mph or heavy rain), oversized loads may be restricted from traveling on certain routes or highways.
The standard permit fee for Oklahoma City is $50, with an additional $25 for each day the load exceeds 24 hours on a single route.
There is also a $100 fee for oversized loads that require a police escort.
