We provide comprehensive heavy haul services throughout Poway, including key areas like Sabre Springs, Rancho Peñasquitos (while technically San Diego, we service routes through it), Poway Business Park, and the residential communities surrounding Lake Poway. Our team is experienced in navigating the specific challenges presented by Poway's varied terrain and infrastructure.
Our strategic location provides easy access to major transportation arteries. We regularly utilize Interstate 15 (I-15) for north-south transport, and CA-56 (Ted Williams Parkway) to connect to I-5 and coastal destinations. State Route 67 is also a key route for accessing areas east of Poway. We ensure efficient and compliant routing for all heavy haul projects.
While Poway itself doesn't have a port, we offer seamless transportation solutions to and from the Port of San Diego, a major hub for international trade. We also support industrial clients located in and around the Miramar area, providing reliable heavy haul services for equipment and materials.

All oversize loads entering the City of Poway must conform to the requirements set by the California Department of Transportation.
In general, any vehicle over 12 feet in width, 14.5 feet in height, and within the Class 3 weight class should obtain an oversize load permit from the Poway Public Works Department.
Additionally, all loads exceeding 50,000 pounds must also comply with federal regulations and obtain a special permit through the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
Poway requires an escort vehicle for all oversize loads exceeding 12 feet in width or 14.5 feet in height, or those carrying hazardous materials.
The Poway Police Department will provide escort services for a fee of $150 per hour, with a minimum charge of two hours.
To apply for an oversize load permit in Poway, please visit the City's website at [www.poway.org](http://www.poway.org) and submit a completed application through the online permitting system.
Applications must be submitted at least 72 hours prior to the planned movement of the oversize load.
Oversize loads are prohibited on Poway's scenic Route S-1 from 10am to 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
All oversize loads are required to travel through the city center between 9am and 4pm, Monday through Friday.
The standard permit fee for Poway is $150 per day, with an additional $50 administrative fee.
Fees may vary depending on the route complexity, with a maximum daily rate of $300.
The specialized freight trucking industry in the United States is a significant economic force, worth over $125 billion annually. This robust sector is experiencing steady growth, driven primarily by nationwide infrastructure projects and the increasing demand for renewable energy transport.
Scale is a defining characteristic of this industry, with more than 10 million oversize/overweight permits issued annually across the country. These permits primarily facilitate the transport of construction equipment, generators, turbines, and agricultural machinery.
Most heavy hauls involve substantial loads weighing between 40,000 to 120,000 pounds and spanning up to 20 feet wide, highlighting the specialized expertise required for safe and efficient transport.
California stands out among the top three states for oversize transport demand, a position attributed to its bustling ports, extensive agricultural operations, and thriving technology manufacturing centers.
Coastal states like California face additional complexity due to environmental protection zones along transport routes, with approximately 15% of heavy hauls involving marine-related industries.
Customer expectations in this specialized industry are clear and demanding. A recent industry survey revealed that 92% of heavy equipment buyers consider on-time delivery and damage-free transport their top priorities.
