01

Excavator Transportation for Jobsites, Dealers, and Equipment Owners

Heavy Haul Transporting coordinates excavator shipping for construction contractors, equipment dealers, rental companies, and owners moving machinery between jobsites, yards, and auction facilities. We review machine dimensions, operating weight, loading conditions, and the route before identifying appropriate transport equipment.

02

Types of Excavators We Help Transport

Our transportation planning covers compact excavators, crawler excavators, wheeled excavators, and larger earthmoving machines. The boom, stick, bucket, counterweight, and attachments may change the shipping footprint. We request the actual transport configuration rather than relying only on the manufacturer model name.

03

Excavator Trailer Options

Depending on weight, height, length, and loading access, suitable trailers may include lowboys, removable gooseneck (RGN) trailers, step decks, and other specialized equipment. Trailer selection must account for deck height, axle capacity, ground clearance, and the machine’s center of gravity.

04

Oversize Permits and Route Planning

An excavator is not automatically an oversize load. Permit needs depend on the loaded truck-and-trailer dimensions and weight and on the jurisdictions involved. Where required, route planning may involve permits, escorts, travel restrictions, and bridge or clearance reviews.

05

Loading and Securement

An operable excavator and a non-running machine require different loading plans. Qualified personnel must assess ramps, ground stability, site access, and lifting or winching equipment where needed. Carriers are responsible for proper tiedowns, securement of attachments, and inspection in transit.

06

Excavator Attachments and Transport Preparation

Tell us whether buckets, hydraulic breakers, thumbs, or other attachments are shipping with the machine. Verify fluid or equipment preparation requirements, remove loose items, and provide photos showing the machine and loading area. Separate components must be listed and secured independently.

07

What Determines Excavator Shipping Cost?

Rates depend on distance, shipping weight and dimensions, trailer configuration, permits and escorts, loading assistance, pickup access, and scheduling. Provide the make and model, measured transport dimensions, operating weight, origin and destination ZIP codes, attachments, and preferred dates for a more accurate quote.
