Tanks & Vessels Transportation Services
Nationwide transportation planning for tanks & vessels.
What We Move
Tank and vessel transportation depends on the vessel’s shape, support points and shipping condition as well as its size. Heavy Haul Transporting helps coordinate moves for processing equipment, mixing tanks and other industrial vessels. We ask how the unit will be supported, which fittings remain attached and what handling arrangements are available before reviewing a transport plan.
Heavy Haul Transporting is operated by Flatbed Hauling Quotes Inc. As an asset-based carrier and licensed freight broker, we combine our fleet with a network of participating carriers. We work with manufacturers, processing plants, tank owners and project coordinators to review transportation requirements before dispatch. Our heavy haulers focus on clear shipment information, suitable equipment and communication between the people releasing and receiving the cargo.

Tanks & Vessels We Can Help You Move
Shipment requirements vary across process tanks, mixing vessels, industrial vessels, storage tanks, skidded assemblies and plant equipment. Send an itemized description of what needs to move, including accessories and separate packages. Photographs help explain the load, but measured dimensions, reliable weights and handling instructions remain important. If the equipment has been modified, identify the changes instead of relying only on a standard model description.
Dimensions Include Fittings and Supports
Measure the full shipping envelope, including legs, saddles, nozzles, access platforms and protective packaging. Identify any fittings or accessories that will travel separately. A vessel’s shell diameter is not necessarily its overall transport width or height. Share drawings when available, especially if the load is asymmetrical or its support arrangement differs from the way it stands during operation.
Shipping Orientation and Vessel Support
The manufacturer or qualified engineering team should determine the permitted shipping orientation and support locations. Some vessels travel on saddles, while others remain upright or on a skid. Do not assume that any part of the shell can take concentrated support or tiedown forces. Provide handling instructions and identify approved attachment points so loading and securement can be planned around the vessel’s construction.
Condition, Residues and Preparation
Tell us whether the tank is new, used, empty, cleaned or carrying any remaining product. Identify prior contents and provide relevant condition or cleaning information where applicable. Hazardous-material questions must be resolved for the actual shipment before dispatch. Transportation arrangements should not assume that a used vessel is safe to handle solely because it looks empty or its external fittings are capped.
Moving Process Equipment Between Plants
A tank move may include pumps, agitators, controls and separate piping. List those items individually and confirm who disconnects and prepares them. Discuss protection for openings, finished surfaces and instruments. At the receiving plant, arrange a suitable unloading area and the agreed lifting equipment. Installation, pressure testing and commissioning are separate tasks that should be assigned before transportation is scheduled.
Trailer Selection for Tanks & Vessels
The appropriate trailer follows the cargo’s weight, dimensions, support requirements and loading method. Depending on the shipment, the carrier may consider a flatbed, step deck, lowboy, removable gooseneck or another specialized configuration. These are options to evaluate, not a promise that every trailer type suits every item. Share the manufacturer’s shipping instructions and any restrictions on where the cargo may be supported.
Tell us how loading and unloading will take place, who provides the handling equipment and whether the cargo can move under its own power. Trailer availability, deck space and loading access must be considered together. Our heavy haulers review those details with the shipment information so the transportation discussion is based on a workable configuration rather than the lowest deck height or shortest route alone.
COMPANY SHIPMENTA Documented Shipment From Our Project Records
The company’s Chocolate tanks folder contains photographs of specialized mixing tanks loaded on a trailer. Its accompanying write-up identifies them as mixers used to make chocolate and says they were moving from one plant to another. The record does not identify the cities, weight or mileage. We use the photographs as an actual example of process-vessel transportation without adding those missing details.
What Affects Tanks & Vessels Transportation Cost?
A useful transportation quote reflects the work required for the complete shipment. Distance matters, but trailer type, loaded size and weight, permits, escort requirements, site access and handling arrangements can also affect the price. Several related loads should be described individually. Let us know about appointment windows, limited receiving hours, storage needs or other conditions that could change the way the move is carried out.
Provide the origin and destination city and ZIP code, the ready date, preferred delivery window, equipment description, shipping dimensions and weight. Include photographs and any available drawings or packing list. Tell us which services are already arranged and which still need discussion. Changes to the cargo or loading conditions should be communicated before dispatch so the quote and transportation plan can be reviewed.
Request a QuoteDetails to Confirm Before Dispatch
For tanks and vessels, describe the shipping orientation, support saddles, projecting fittings and condition of the interior. Identify any prior contents and provide relevant preparation information. Include accessories such as agitators, pumps and controls in the inventory. A vessel should not be described only by its volume or shell diameter.
Before the pickup appointment, confirm that the cargo matches the description used for the quote and that the loading area is ready. Photograph the prepared equipment or packages and keep the inventory available to the people releasing the load. Agree on how pickup and delivery updates will be communicated. If another contractor controls access or handles the lift, make sure that contact has the same appointment information. A shared understanding of the cargo, responsibilities and site conditions helps keep the move organized without depending on assumptions made during the first quote discussion.
Tanks & Vessels Transportation Questions
Can a tank travel on its side?
Only when that orientation and the required support arrangement have been confirmed by the manufacturer or qualified personnel. Provide the vessel’s handling instructions before choosing the trailer and loading method.
What if the shipment details change after the quote?
Contact the team before pickup. A change in dimensions, weight, component count, operating condition or loading location may affect the truck, trailer, route and price. Updated information helps the carrier review the move before equipment arrives rather than discovering a different load at the gate.
What should be ready at delivery?
Arrange an informed receiving contact, suitable access and the handling equipment agreed for unloading. Keep the shipment inventory available so separate pieces can be checked on arrival. If the receiving site cannot accept the load as planned, communicate that as early as possible so alternatives can be discussed.
